Boston, MA – February 17, 2023 – Clarion, a Lumanity business, is a life sciences strategy and organizational consultancy that works together with its clients to envision, craft, and enable growth through scientific and commercial innovation and leadership, is pleased to announce that Daniel Lewis has been promoted to Manager, Casey Thevenot, Martin Strebl-Bantillo, and Carolina Lahmann have been promoted to Principal, and Ellen Edenberg has been promoted to Senior Principal.

Daniel Lewis, Ph.D., Manager
Daniel has a breadth of knowledge across multiple therapeutic areas, including cardiovascular, orthopedics, oncology, and rare diseases. He has extensive experience in conducting opportunity assessments, due diligences, and developing program strategies for pre-clinical, commercial, and medical organizations. Before joining Clarion, Daniel worked as a consultant at Cofactor Group where he honed his skills in creating patient flow model forecasts for global markets, particularly for alliance products. Through his experience, Daniel has gained expertise in building revenue models, creating business scenarios, and presenting to executive leadership. Daniel holds a Ph.D. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University.
Carolina Lahmann, D.Phil., Principal
Carolina focuses on early commercialization and portfolio strategies across a wide range of therapeutic areas including neuroscience, rare disease, and reproductive medicine. Her project experience includes indication prioritization, opportunity assessments, TPP development and testing, co-positioning strategies, and cross-functional strategy development. Carolina also serves as an internal thought leader in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as well as data privacy law compliance. Prior to Clarion, Carolina earned her doctorate in Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics from the University of Oxford and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Neurobiology at Harvard Medical School. She received her undergraduate degree in Pharmacology from University College London in the U.K.
Casey Thevenot, MPH, Principal
Since 2016, Casey has been a valued member of the Clarion team, leveraging her strategy consulting expertise to support a wide range of projects. Her experience includes developing comprehensive brand and therapeutic area strategies and designing solutions that help clients achieve their vision. In addition, Casey serves as an internal thought leader for marketing and communications initiatives. Before joining Clarion, Casey worked as a federal lobbyist at Akin Gump, representing a diverse group of healthcare clients, including pharmaceutical manufacturers, during the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). She also held a corporate strategy and government relations position at CVS Health. Casey holds an MPH in Health Policy and Management from Yale University and a B.S. in Public Health from the University of Georgia.
Martin Strebl-Bantillo, Ph.D., Principal
Martin leverages his extensive knowledge in primary market research and strategy development to support the commercialization of new products across various therapeutic areas, with a focus on oncology and transplant care. He is also a leader in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the company, as well as a key contributor to the internal library team, providing reading and resource recommendations. Martin completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Neuroimaging at MGH/Harvard Medical School, where he researched the chemical methodology for introducing radioactive labels into small molecules, and the applications of this technology in the visualization of epigenetic enzymes in the living brain using PET imaging. He holds a PhD in Chemistry & Chemical Biology from Harvard University, and a BSc in Chemistry and Biochemistry from LMU Munich.
Ellen Edenberg, Ph.D., Senior Principal
Ellen has over 12 years of experience in the life sciences industry and is a seasoned strategy consultant. She has worked on projects related to commercialization, including indication prioritization, opportunity assessments, and portfolio strategies. Her focus is on helping clients tackle commercial challenges for novel therapeutic approaches and mechanisms of action, with a track record in therapeutic areas such as immunology, neuromuscular disease, GI, CNS, critical care, rare disease, neonatology, and radiopharmaceuticals. Ellen was a first hire through the PROPEL program and has been instrumental in its success. She has a biological sciences degree from Stanford University and holds a Ph.D. in Genetics from UC San Francisco and completed post-doctoral research in biochemistry and molecular biology at the Whitehead Institute at MIT. Ellen is also the lead author on four peer-reviewed scientific papers.
